it the first mix doesn't froth then the rest won't work at all. you should activate the yeast separately before you add it to the flour. so blood-temp milk (too hot and it will kill the yeast) add the yeast, stir and then add the sugar and whisk it in. leave for 15 mins or so until it starts frothing.
