bage is pronounced something like 'ba-ay' (g is silent, or, at the most, j), bagt is pronounced like 'bagt', and bagvaerk 'bow-vairk' (bow rhyming with 'pow! '). that's three different realisations of 'g': silent or j, 'g', and 'w'.
