here are the simple steps:

  1. saute mushrooms in olive oil with garlic.
  2. add red wine and deglaze the pan. cook down the mushrooms until they are softened and liquid is reduced.
  3. season with herbs, salt and pepper.
  4. add a pat of butter to thicken the sauce.
  5. serve over or next to your favorite beef recipe.
